Ask the Daemon (@askthedaemon on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube). Last updated 29 October 2026.
Ask the Daemon is a show made from its audience's comments. Everyone who comments on an episode gets a wizard in the Circle, and the most liked comment's author asks the Daemon a question in the next episode. This page explains what that takes.
What we collect
Only what is public on our own posts:
- your username and the platform's account ID for it,
- the text of comments you leave on our posts, and how many likes each one has,
- totals for our own posts, such as views, likes and follower counts.
We don't collect email addresses, passwords, messages, location or anything from your own posts. This site sets no cookies and runs no trackers.
How it's used
- Your username appears on your wizard in the episodes and in post captions.
- If your comment is picked, its text is read out in the episode and the Daemon answers it.
- We keep a count of the episodes you've taken part in, which sets your wizard's level.
- Post totals tell us how the show is doing.
We don't sell or share this data, and we don't use it for advertising. It's stored in our database (Supabase) and read through the platforms' official APIs.
Deleting your data
To remove your wizard and everything we hold about you, send a direct message to @askthedaemon on Instagram or comment "delete my wizard" on any of our posts. We'll delete your records within 30 days and leave you out of future episodes. Deleting a comment on the platform also stops us from using it.
Episodes that are already published are videos; we can't always edit a name out of them, but we'll take down an episode on request if your name or question is in it.
